Neuroenergetics Glossary — Key Concepts
The language of Neuroenergetics — defined in plain terms.
Neuroenergetics
A nervous-system-first coaching methodology that works below cognition to reset the subconscious filters formed in childhood that trigger automatic stress responses. Created by Nirvan Soogrim at Spiral Hub.
The Knowing-Doing Gap
The experience of knowing exactly what to do as a parent, leader, or individual — but being physically unable to do it in high-stress moments. The prefrontal cortex processes 1,200 bits/second while receiving 1,000,000 bits/second from the nervous system.
Mask Release Paradox
The phenomenon where children (especially those with ADHD) appear calm at school but meltdown intensely at home. Home is the only environment safe enough for the child to release accumulated stress from masking all day.
Nervous System Transmission
The biological process by which your internal state broadcasts to those around you — especially your children — before any words are spoken.
Co-Regulation
The biological process where nervous systems synchronise. Children with ADHD depend on a caregiver's nervous system to regulate. When the parent is genuinely calm, the child can access calm.
STOP Technique
A 5-step nervous system reset protocol using positive anchor stacking and pattern interruption. 5 reps twice daily for at least 14 days. 10–15 minutes daily.
Window of Tolerance
A concept from Dan Siegel describing the bandwidth within which a person can process stress without becoming dysregulated. Neuroenergetics gradually expands this window.
Survival Mode / Protection Mode
The nervous system state where the body has detected threat and activated fight, flight, or freeze responses. In this state, the prefrontal cortex goes offline.
